Tips For Renting An Orlando Vacation Home

Always study the rental contract ahead of time, and pick and choose your favorite one so it will accommodate you and your family the best. If your primary goal is a Disney World vacation, then pick one as close as possible to that resort. If you want to visit the two parks at Universal in Orlando, then choose one closer to that. If you’d like to explore Orlando as well, then find one somewhere in the middle. If in doubt, rent a vacation home closer to your main destination spot.

The party leader, who must be over twenty-one is the person who will be signing an Orlando vacation home rental contract (usually). Other guests will also be listed on the contract. You can get a quote online for the cost of the rental and these are usually good for three days. If you reserve online as well, you should get a confirmation email. Once a reservation is paid for, it constitutes a contract between the renter and the owner or management company.

Checkout your options while you are at home and compare various pros and cons for any rental property you’re considering. Some things to look out for and consider, are:

  • How many adults and how many children, if any, are in your group?
  • Does the vacation home have more than one bathroom?
  • Does it have a full or partial kitchen?
  • Usually, dishes and linens are provided, as well as small and other appliances. Check to make sure.
  • How many beds are in the rental and are they regular ones or foldaways?
  • Is there a coffee shop close by, or a grocery store?
  • Does the complex have shuttle vans to the more popular attractions such as Disneyworld or Universal? Both Universal parks are connected, so once you get there you are good to go. At Disneyworld, once you’re there (usually at Disney Marketplace) you can get anywhere on the resort by their own vast transportation system.
  • What facilities does your vacation home have if it’s in a complex? Are there pools, exercise rooms, Internet access, a gift shop, etc. Is the home in the middle of nowhere or close to all necessary amenities?
  • Are the accommodations old or new? If older, have they been updated recently?
  • Is there construction or other noise close by? You’d hardly want to be close to a venue that plays loud music until the wee hours of the morning.

Perform your due diligence and you’ll all have the best vacation in Florida, ever!
